As the varsity boys’ baseball team prepares for the upcoming season, they look to continue on what was a terrific season last year.
While offseason workouts come to an end, the gears shift and it is time for baseball.
“I think this team has a lot of chemistry this year because we have been playing together since early in our high school careers, we have done a great job in preparing and we have been working so hard.” junior pitcher, Cason Omiecinski said.
The wildcats first game is on Thursday, March 22, and the team will finalized by then.
There is a new face that will most likely be in the locker room this year: junior, Carson Jones. He is coming from The Steward School and is a Division 1 commit. He can really give this team the lift they need to finish on top. However, this varsity team is still fairly young, with the contributions of sophomores Scott Sweeney and Nicholas Noonan.
Last year, Deep Run finished 8-5 overall, but with an impressive 6-2 home record. Though their quest for the trophy might have fallen short, the team has new dynamics to help them come out victorious this season.
