As the rest of us got ready to go back to school, the varsity field hockey team was training hard to play this fall season. Seniors on the field hockey team, Maddie Ewald, Sarah Allen, Allie Kelleher, Kali McGough, Caroline Parlantieri, and Natalie Biliunas, prepared to play their hardest on the field, one last time.
“I love playing field hockey; it shows me how to work hard and cooperate well with other people. I can’t wait to finish our season strong with all of my best friends on the team. I will definitely miss playing every year, and I am looking forward to possibly joining a club team in college,” said Ewald
Overall, the team is practically undefeated, (11-1), with plans to keep it that way. Biliunas has played in all 12 games and has scored the most goals out of her teammates (14 points). She has an outstanding average of 2.7 goals per game, giving her the greatest average amount of goals on the team.
“Everyone on the team is so eager to get on the field and start practice every day. Although it’s tiring practicing every day, it’s always fun when we get on the field and start joking around with each other. Saying goodbye to all the younger people on the team is going to be extremely hard, but I know they will play amazing in the upcoming years.” said Kelleher, one captain of the team.
