TSA building valuable STEM skills

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a club that enhances STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills, as well as attending regional and state competitions. Jennifer Tolley and Brandon Gooss are the club sponsors, and the officers for this year have not been decided yet.

During this time of virtual learning, TSA has continued to hold meetings through Microsoft teams. During the meetings, they hold question and answer sessions and deliver information about what projects are taking place. Although there are many limitations on what clubs may or may not do, TSA is able to continue participating in competitions. At the moment, competitions will take place virtually.

“I’m looking forward to being able to have in-person meetings once we go back to school. I do not know if we will have non-virtual competitions yet, but being able to see and help students hands-on will be a big benefit.”

— Jennifer Tolley

TSA will soon start preparing for their Regional Fair Competition against the entire South Central Region. This event will be held virtually and will take place on Mar. 6th. They will attend their state competition in early May, but it has not been determined whether it will be virtual, in-person, or a mix of both.

At the moment, TSA is holding officer elections virtually. In hopes of getting elected, candidates will give speeches to their peers displaying information about what they plan to do for this upcoming year.
