Wildcats for Change makes a positive impact in the Deep Run community

Wildcats for Change, new to the school this year, strives to make a positive change within and outside of the Deep Run community. To accomplish this, they hope to respectfully learn more about different cultures, discuss different social issues within the community, and make connections with teachers and faculty to enact change.

This year’s club leaders are  Zoe Shook as President, Sarah Francis as Vice President, Rumaisa Saeed as Secretary, Maryam Rabiutheen as Historian, and Isis Keneah as Treasurer. The sponsor of Wildcats for Change is English teacher, Elizabeth Berry.

During this time of virtual learning, Wildcats for Change has been holding meetings during extended learning.

“We hope to plan more virtual events as the school year progresses where members can get to know each other. We also hope to invite guest speakers to our club meetings,” Berry said.

“We are looking forward to creating events that celebrate diversity and inclusion that students can attend.”
