University of Virginia

A number of Deep Run graduates have pursued a degree at the University of Virginia. Whether because of its distance to home or the world-class programs they offer, UVA is now home to many Wildcats.

Its beautiful campus has won over junior Carter Huffman, who names the Charlottesville institution as her dream school. The land is vast, spacious, and historically structured.

“It’s a great school, and the campus is really pretty,” Huffman said.

University of Virginia has a selective admissions process with an acceptance rate of only 24 percent. The most popular areas of study at UVA are liberal arts, sciences, and humanities. Many famous people attended the college including writer Edgar Allen Poe, journalist Katie Couric, and actress Tina Fey.

Last school year’s college decisions sent at least 27 of our seniors in the class of 2021 to attend.
