Destiny Dykes, the newest addition to the front office staff, is in charge of greeting faculty, students, and guests both in person and on the phones. Her job entails pointing people in the right direction to get what they need, backing up the attendance office, and answering any administrative questions students and parents may have. Currently, she is acting as the full-time attendance contact until someone is hired.

Dykes attended Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia and later went on to attend Virginia Union University. After graduating, Dykes worked with children with autism for five years before coming to Deep Run.

“The most challenging part so far has been learning the ins and outs of being a backup for attendance. But I love a good challenge so I’m pretty sure I’ll catch on quickly,” Dykes said.

Dykes favorite part of her job is building relationships with all of the staff.

“Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, and I enjoy [the] family-like atmosphere,” Dykes said.
