As the school year creeps closer to the end, Deep Run’s PE classes go to Bowl America to kick off the end of the year before SOL testing. Many enjoy going to these fun events instead of typical PE classes because it’s a way to take a break from all the stress going on in the classrooms, especially with testing coming up.

Students enjoy going to Bowl America not only for the bowling, but for the food and arcade games.

Freshman Julia Towey likes going to Bowl America because she can have a break from school and has the chance to talk and hang out with friends while also playing.

“I enjoy bowling because it gives me a break from school and I can hang out with my friends,” Towey said.

Freshman Aubrey Petrotta loves the competition of bowling.

“I like perfecting my bowling skills and striving to win against Leah Polito and other competitors,” Petrotta said.

The field trips to Bowl America is a good way to take a break from schoolwork while still doing physical activity.

“I liked bowling because we got to be in a different environment and it was really fun to be able to do something different for PE,” freshman Brooklyn Roever said.

Some students feel that in addition to bowling being entertaining and enjoyable, it just gets boring doing the same thing every PE class.

“I think bowling was a lot of fun because it’s a good break from school work, especially now because it’s the end of the year,” freshman Spencer Strong said.

It remains to be seen if any students have picked up a new sport, but they’ve certainly had fun practicing.
