Deep Run’s first ever “Spring Fling” fundraiser event was hosted by the SCA on Saturday, Apr. 30 from 3 p.m to 7 p.m in the student parking lot. The entry fee was $10 per person, with complimentary wristbands to go along with the fundraiser. All proceeds from the occasion were donated to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

There were games such as can-jam and spike ball. Competitive corn hole and tug-of-war tournaments were also played. Both were a very exciting addition to the numerous other field activities held.

“I went to the Spring Fling on Saturday, and it was a lot of fun. I entered both of the tournaments and the entire event was an immersive experience and inclusive,” freshman Mark Trinh said.

The SCA also put together an art station. The station had sidewalk chalk for drawing on the ground, an opportunity for our artistic Wildcats to spread the love of the craft. The festival also had face painting and temporary colored hair spray free to use for all. The fundraiser also had a load of food trucks to choose from.

In addition to supporting a good cause, the Spring Fling was a fun event to let our Wildcat family connect in ways we haven’t been able to over the past two years, coming together to support the Children’s Hospital while having fun with friends and family.
