With summer right around the corner, this means concert season is in full swing and tickets are getting sold by the thousands. Various artists like Taylor Swift, 21 Savage, and Nicki Minaj are touring this summer, and millions of fans will be in attendance. But the question remains, is the cost of tickets actually worth your money?
When buying tickets for a concert, there are many things to consider. Transportation, food, and sometimes a hotel room are some of the things that can add up quickly. Say you’re buying tickets to a concert in D.C., and you’ve already added up the cost of everything else but the tickets. But when you look online, the cheapest tickets are $300, not including taxes, fees, and parking. For $300, you’d think you’re getting a good seat, but in reality, it’s at the top of the stadium with the worst view possible. So you might wonder, are ticket prices too expensive?

Honestly, it will not be enjoyable if you’re spending $600 for an hour-long concert and watching from the very top of the stadium. Sure, it might be fun at the moment, but when you realize how much money you spent, it’s going to bring your mood down. Concerts should be something that people go to for fun and enjoyment and with the price of tickets, it just won’t be enjoyable.
The chances of being able to find cheap tickets to go see your favorite artist, especially when it’s someone extremely popular, are going to be slim to none. In conclusion, the price of concert tickets now is way too expensive and needs to be brought down.
