When prom season rolls around, the upperclassmen have an important decision to make: what am I going to wear?
There are two different methods one can use when shopping for a prom dress: shopping online or in-person. While some may appreciate the efficiency of scrolling online to buy a dress, others might like going in person and trying on dresses.
“There is more [variety] online, and I liked more of the options on the websites I looked on rather than in-person,” senior Christina Guidice said.
However, there are also many benefits to shopping in person when choosing a prom dress, such as the in-person experience.
“It is so much easier since you can try the prom dress on in store,” senior Mackenzie Dodge said.
Another factor students have to consider is what kind of style they want to have. Many people may go more simplistic, but some think about the tiny details in the dress they choose.
“I chose [my] dress because of the slit of the ruffles, and I think it will look very flattering on,” Guidice said.
Some students already had a plan for what dress they want to wear when going into prom season to avoid repetitive styles.
“I liked the color of it, and I really wanted to do that color for the past years in homecoming,” junior Guneet Kahlon said.
With the prom theme being Masquerade, people also had to consider going on theme or not based on the prom dress that they choose. With the masquerade theme, people were given the ability to wear a mask with their dress; however, some chose not to do so based on their negative opinions about the theme.
“I [did] not plan on wearing a mask to the actual dance, but I [was] excited to see what the decorations look like,” Kahlon said.
Regardless of the choice of attire or the shopping efforts it took, it was an exciting time for the upperclassmen with all the decorations and the thrill of the dance itself.
